POMPANO BEACH MAYOR RECEIVES 500 MASKS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES.

July 10, 2020, Pompano Beach —Pompano Beach Mayor Rex Hardin was presented with 500 masks today at City Hall for city employees. The masks were donated by Jim Wolff, owner of Ironclad Companies Steel Structure Homes in Pompano Beach. Mr. Wolff has donated a total of 3,000 masks in the past 15 days to Broward County nonprofits on behalf of Ironclad Companies. In addition to the City of Pompano Beach, 500 masks have been donated to: Broward Partnership (Pompano Beach), The Parents and Information and Resource Center (Pompano Beach), Broward Children’s Center (Pompano), Henderson Behavior Health Clinic (Fort Lauderdale) and Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep. Recipients for the remainder of the 2,000 masks are being decided. Mr. Wolff purchased 5,000 blue and white masks overseas and decided to give back to the community by donating them to local charities and the city where he has lived and worked for 50 years. “Masks were in such demand back in April that when I had an opportunity to place a large order for them overseas, I decided to do my part to help my community by buying and donating them,” he said. “This is a fantastic showing of community spirit,” said Pompano Beach Mayor Rex Hardin. “We need to keep people safe and this donation will be put to good use by the Emergency Operations Center that will distribute them. Ironclad’s focus is to keep people safe-- building steel homes and donating masks--and we appreciate that very much.” Ironclad Steel Structure Homes is securing permits in Pompano Beach to build hurricane-proof heavy steel homes, the strongest single-family structures in Florida. The first steel structure home will be built on N.W. 15th Court in Pompano Beach.
