Cor-Ten Steel Explained

COR-TEN steel, or corten steel, is a group of steel alloys that were developed to eliminate the need for painting after exposure to the weather. The name COR-TEN refers to the distinguishing properties of this type of steel: Corrosion resistance and Tensile strength. This steel was designed to be used as a way to show exposed steel on architectural designs but to also be corrosion resistant.

The COR-TEN steel products you may be most familiar with are shipping containers used to carry goods across oceans. The corrosion-resistant properties of these containers allow them to withstand the scorching sun, strong winds, saltwater, heavy rains, and even snow.

Your Ironclad Steel Structure Home, built from COR-TEN steel shipping containers, will stand stronger and with more structural integrity than the average family residence.  However, unlike other 'container homes', your Ironclad home, will blend into the typical neighborhood as our models are designed to have a decorative exterior facade on the outside.
